The Chipakata Children's Academy is supported by both our Lusaka, Zambia team and our New York City, USA team.
Our entire team in both locations is made up of a volunteer force, in order that the administrative costs can be kept to the lowest amount possible. We are a registered organization in the Republic of Zambia.
Joyce Habeenzu, our Director of Community Relations and Affairs, is responsible for all day-to-day coordination of the activities of the project including working closely with the community on a daily basis to ensure that our resources are being used properly in order to benefit the children and the community at large in the best ways possible. Additionally, Joyce was able to work closely with one of the community leaders to convey our mission, which resulted in his donating a portion of private land to our project, which increased the total area of land we have to support this initiative.
Henry Habeenzu, our Director of Agriculture, will among his other responsibilities organize and oversee all agricultural elements of the project, including our long term sustainability plan, which uses agriculture to provide food and income to the Academy, while providing jobs to local members of the Chipakata community.

Lusaka Team
The Lusaka Team is headed up by Joyce and Henry Habeenzu, local community members and successful farmers. Joyce and Henry are highly regarded members of the Chongwe District community and bring a long history of successful charitable and humanitarian efforts that have led up to their role with this project.
Both Joyce and Henry serve as Board Members of the Chipakata Children's Academy Foundation and they each play a vital role in the project's development and success.
Our Lusaka Team is supported by local volunteers Tina Chirwa and Stanley Kampamba who learned about our project during one of our visits to Zambia, and pledged their support as volunteers. As local Zambian citizens, their recognition of the project's importance and their commitment to the initiative reinforces and validates for us the need for projects like this among the Zambian community. Stanley recently accompanied the surveying crews at the project site while the project was being surveyed and documented.
